Former Chaney Lumber Owner Passes Away

Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers Inc. is sad to report the passing of Glen Chaney, former owner of Chaney Lumber Co. His obituary information is below:
Glen Chaney passed away on Sept. 12 at his home. He was 92. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Billie Rae Minx Chaney who survives of London, KY; three children, Kathy (Ed) Jones, Glenna Bryant and Cindy (Jimmy) Baker; grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Glen was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1945 to 1947 and served mostly in Germany. He was the former owner and operator of Chaney Lumber and Laminated Timber Inc., and was a long-time AHMI member. He was a member of First Christian Church and had served as an elder and trustee many times; the Kentucky Forest Industry Association; the McKee Lodge as a 32nd degree Mason; and a Shriner.
The funeral services were held at Bowling Funeral Home in London, KY. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the First Christian Church, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, or Faith Christian Camp in memory of Glen.
